What is a Texas medical marijuana doctor?

A Texas medical marijuana doctor is a licensed, board-certified physician registered with the Compassionate Use Program who evaluates whether a patient may qualify for a medical cannabis prescription under Texas law. Only CURT-registered physicians can prescribe medical cannabis in Texas.

Real doctors. Real clinical experience.

— Why it matters

Medical cannabis is medicine, and it deserves a real medical evaluation. Our physicians bring experience across family medicine, chronic disease management, integrative medicine, anesthesiology, addiction medicine, and clinical leadership. No. Only physicians registered with the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas (CURT) can prescribe medical cannabis. All Texas 420 Doctors physicians are board-certified and CURT-registered.

Do I get to choose which doctor I see?

We match you with the physician best suited to your condition and schedule. If you have a preference, let us know when you book. We accommodate requests whenever possible.

Is the evaluation online or in person?

Most evaluations are completed online through secure telemedicine. Your physician reviews your health history and qualifying condition in a private video visit.

What happens during the evaluation?

Your physician reviews your medical history, discusses your symptoms and treatment goals, and determines whether you qualify under the Texas Compassionate Use Program. If approved, your prescription is entered into CURT, no physical card needed; dispensaries verify you by ID.
