Fill out a short form about your condition. It takes a few minutes and confirms the two basics: you're a Texas resident, and you have a qualifying condition under the Compassionate Use Program.
Have a private online consultation with a board-certified, CURT-registered Texas physician who reviews your condition.
If approved, your physician enters your prescription into the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas. You'll receive a signed Letter of Approval.
Visit any licensed Texas dispensary with a valid government ID. Staff verify you in CURT (no physical card to carry) and help you get your medicine.
House Bill 46 took effect September 1, 2025 and expanded the program. Here's what's current.
Chronic pain, traumatic brain injury, Crohn's disease, and terminal / hospice conditions were added.
The old THC-by-weight percentage cap is gone. Texas now uses measured, dose-based limits set by the state.
Now includes lozenges, patches, topicals, and non-smoked inhalation devices. Smoking raw flower is still not permitted.

Persistent pain that affects daily movement, comfort, and quality of life

CURT is the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas, the state system, overseen by the Texas Department of Public Safety, where your prescription is recorded. Licensed dispensaries verify eligible patients directly in CURT. There's no physical card to carry.
Texas allows low-THC medical cannabis under measured, dose-based limits set by the state (HB 46 replaced the older THC-by-weight percentage cap). Your physician directs the appropriate product and dosage for your condition.
Only physicians registered with the Texas Compassionate Use Program and listed in CURT can prescribe low-THC cannabis. They must be licensed in Texas and board-certified in a specialty relevant to your condition. All physicians at Texas 420 Doctors are board-certified and registered with CURT.
Once your prescription is in CURT, you can fill it at any licensed Texas dispensing organization. You're not locked to one. Bring a valid government ID and the dispensary verifies you in CURT. HB 46 expanded the program from 3 to up to 15 licensed dispensaries plus approved satellite pickup sites. Delivery options vary by dispensary.
